Welcome Center
Serving as the first point of contact, the Welcome Center receives international staff, international degree students and international and national guests on behalf of Med Uni Graz. Excluded from this group are students and graduates staying at Med Uni Graz for a limited time as part of a mobility program.
Our services
The Welcome Center provides support with entry and residence formalities and campus life, access to networks and information and opportunities for social contact to:
- International Med Uni Graz staff (support for current and future professors as well as academic and general university staff)
- International PhD students at Med Uni Graz (support with employment)
- International degree students at Med Uni Graz
- International and national guests of Med Uni Graz (support with research, theses, dissertations and internships at departments, divisions and institutes)

The Welcome Center supports international current and future professors as well as academic and general Med Uni Graz staff.

The Welcome Center supports international students in all degree programs who (would like to) study at Med Uni Graz or who are preparing for the admissions procedure in a university preparation program.

International and national guests of Med Uni Graz
The Welcome Center supports international and national guests of Med Uni Graz in the course of their research, theses, dissertations and internships at departments, divisions and institutes.
You must first register as a guest. Please follow the steps of the procedure under "Guest stay opportunities."
Guest stay opportunities
All guests who have at least a master's degree and are interested in research at Med Uni Graz are received as guest scientists.
Short-term guests include anyone present at Med Uni Graz for up to five days who does NOT participate in active research. You do NOT have to register first but are requested to provide your contact information to the Med Uni Graz unit that has invited you in person.
Students of other universities may take part in education-related guest stays, for example while conducting project lab work, as part of writing a thesis or for other research-related activities.
Please note
- All guests are responsible for funding their stay. Med Uni Graz neither provides guests with a salary nor covers their expenses.
- Guests may not provide medical services during a guest stay.
- Medical services may be provided for study purposes as part of a clinical fellowship stay at Med Uni Graz.
Guest stay procedure
If you do not have a contact person at Med Uni Graz:
1) Visit our Research Portal, where you can search for a host suitable for your research interests
2) Contact the person at Med Uni Graz whose guest you would like to be, receive his/her approval and agree upon the details of your stay
If you have a contact person at Med Uni Graz who has agreed to take you on:
3) Fill out the registration form
4) Send it to welcomecenter(at)medunigraz.at with the required documents you already have in an attachment
5) Inquire about practical information related to your stay
6) Send the rest of the documents required to draw up the agreement to welcomecenter(at)medunigraz.at before your stay
When you start your stay at Med Uni Graz:
7) Visit the Welcome Center
8) Sign the agreement
The Medical University of Graz does not cooperate on the organization and implementation of PhD/doctoral programs, research stays or other programs with any agencies, agents or intermediary organizations.
