Welcome Center

Serving as the first point of contact, the Welcome Center receives international staff, international degree students and international and national guests on behalf of Med Uni Graz. Excluded from this group are students and graduates staying at Med Uni Graz for a limited time as part of a mobility program.

Our services

The Welcome Center provides support with entry and residence formalities and campus life, access to networks and information and opportunities for social contact to:

The Welcome Center supports international students in all degree programs who (would like to) study at Med Uni Graz or who are preparing for the admissions procedure in a university preparation program.

International and national guests of Med Uni Graz

The Welcome Center supports international and national guests of Med Uni Graz in the course of their research, theses and dissertations at departments, divisions and institutes.

You must first register as a guest. Please follow the steps of the procedure under "Guest stay opportunities."

Guest stay opportunities

All guests who are interested in conducting research at the Medical University of Graz, including as part of a thesis, are welcome to come for a guest research stay. If the thesis is written as part of a mandatory internship or if the student wants to pursue a mandatory internship, the stay must be reported via the One Stop Shop, not the Welcome Center.

Short-term guests include anyone present at Med Uni Graz for up to five days.

Guest stay procedure

If you do not have a contact person at Med Uni Graz:

1) Visit our Research Portal, where you can search for a host suitable for your research interests.

2) Contact the person at Med Uni Graz whose guest you would like to be, receive his/her approval and agree upon the details of your stay.

If you have a contact person at Med Uni Graz who has agreed to take you on:

3) Please contact welcomecenter(at)medunigraz.at were you will receive the required information for your registration.

4) Inquire about practical information related to your stay.

5) Send the rest of the documents required to draw up the agreement to welcomecenter(at)medunigraz.at before your stay.

Before you start your stay at Med Uni Graz:

7) Contact the Welcome Center to agree on an appointment at the beginning of your stay.

8) Visit the Welcome Center and sign the agreement.

Please note

All guests are responsible for funding their stay. Med Uni Graz neither provides guests with a salary nor covers their expenses.
Guests may not provide medical services during a guest stay.
Medical services may be provided for study purposes as part of a clinical fellowship stay at Med Uni Graz.

Funding programs

The Medical University of Graz does not cooperate on the organization and implementation of PhD/doctoral programs, research stays or other programs with any agencies, agents or intermediary organizations.
